BATTLELORE: 'Bigger And Better Than Ever Before'
April 20, 2008Finnish "fantasy metal" band BATTLELORE recently entered Sound Supreme Studios in Hmeenlinna, Finland, with producer Janne Saksa to begin recording its fifth album, tentatively titled "The Last Alliance".
Regarding the group's new material, keyboardist Maria said, "[the new tracks will] be bigger and better than ever before. We have put a lot of thought into giving the songs what they actually need and what serves the greater good, 'the master idea,' behind the songs, not just adding things for the fun of adding things. So it'll definitely be something to look forward to! We all have a lot of faith in the producer Janne; he has proven his effectiveness and genius mind when it comes to making the songs better. It's been an absolute pleasure working with him and I hope we'll be able to do this all over again some day!"
BATTLELORE is recording 9-10 songs for the forthcoming CD, which will be mixed and mastered by the Swedish multi-instrumentalist and producer Dan Swan (EDGE OF SANITY, NIGHTINGALE, ex-BLOODBATH).
The group previously stated about the new songs, "The new material is bigger, better and more epic with a few surprises such as the use of Tomi's [Mykkanen] clean vocals. The band itself describes the new songs as a beautiful combination of 'Sword's Song' and 'Evernight', where all the typical musical elements of BATTLELORE are combined in a new and also unexpected way."
Songtitles set to appear on the CD include "The Last Alliance", "Exile The Daystar", "Daughter Of The Sun", "Third Immortal" and "Voice Of The Fallen".
BATTLELORE released its fourth album, "Evernight", in North America on March 13, 2007 via Napalm Records.
